Parenting is full of unexpected moments. One of those moments for us was when our first child would absolutely refused to wear the silicone smocks we had bought. Mealtimes turned into a battle or simply A MESS and we were desperate for a solution. That’s when my husband, Joe, had a stroke of genius. Grabbing a tea towel, he cut a hole in the middle and slipped it over J's head. Just like that, we had a makeshift bib that J actually loved wearing!
That small act of improvisation sparked something bigger. We realised that so many baby products on the market, while functional, often missed the mark when it came to simplicity, comfort, and sustainability. We started thinking: What if we could create products that not only worked better for little ones but also reduced harm to the environment?
And so, Looma Collective was born.
Our very first product was inspired by that tea towel bib. We wanted to create something that was practical, soft, and easy to use, while also being gentle on the planet. From sourcing eco-friendly materials to designing products that last, we’ve built Looma with the needs of families and the environment in mind.
Since then, our mission has expanded beyond bibs. We’re dedicated to making thoughtfully designed, sustainable products that simplify life with little ones. Whether it’s a soft onesie made from organic cotton or a nursery essential crafted with care, every item is a reflection of our commitment to quality and sustainability.
Looking back on where it all started, we’re so grateful for that moment when Joe cut a hole in a tea towel. It wasn’t just the start of a practical solution for J; it was the beginning of a journey to create something meaningful for families everywhere.
