If you’re deep in the snack zone with a teething baby or a fussy toddler who throws more food than they eat — we see you, mama. Frozen yoghurt snacks are one of our go-to solutions at Looma Co. They’re quick to prep, easy to batch, and cooling on sore little gums (and hot tempers).
Today we’re sharing two of our absolute favourite froyo recipes:
-
A healthy Frozen Yoghurt Ice Bar that sneaks in fruit and veg without fuss, and
-
A dreamy chocolate peanut butter version for an indulgent snack that still hits the nourishment notes.
🥕 Option 1: Frozen Yoghurt Ice Bars
For teething bubs, fussy toddlers + sneaky veggie wins
These creamy froyo ice bars are made with just a handful of ingredients, are totally freezer-friendly, and taste like a treat — even with the sneaky carrot or zucchini. We love serving them on hot afternoons or after daycare as a calm-down snack.
🍓 Ingredients:
-
1 cup full-fat Greek yoghurt (or coconut yoghurt for dairy-free)
-
1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (omit for under 1s)
-
½ cup mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
-
¼ cup finely grated carrot or zucchini
-
¼ tsp vanilla extract
👩🍳 Instructions:
-
Stir yoghurt, honey/maple, and vanilla in a bowl.
-
Fold in berries and finely grated veggies.
-
Spoon into popsicle moulds and tap to settle.
-
Add sticks and freeze 4+ hours or overnight.
-
Pop out and serve! Great straight from the freezer for sore gums or snacky toddlers.
🧠 Mum Tip:
Blend the mixture if your little one’s suspicious of textures. You can also swap berries for mango or banana, depending on what’s in season.
🍫 Option 2: Indulgent Honey Peanut Butter Choc Froyo
For mums, big kids + those “I just need something sweet” moments
This version is creamy, rich, and naturally sweet — like a peanut butter cup got froyo-fied. It’s also packed with protein and healthy fats, so it still gets the tick as a more nourishing treat.
🥄 Ingredients:
-
2 cups full-fat Greek yoghurt
-
½ cup natural peanut butter
-
¼ cup honey (or maple syrup)
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
-
Pinch of sea salt
-
⅓ cup dark chocolate chips or chopped dark choc
✨ Instructions:
-
Mix yoghurt, peanut butter, honey, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
-
Stir in chocolate chips.
-
Spoon into silicone moulds or mini muffin trays.
-
Freeze for 2–3 hours until solid.
-
Pop out and enjoy — perfect for mum’s 3pm crash, or a dessert that feels indulgent but isn’t full of junk.
💡 Freezer Snack Hacks:
-
Always have a batch of both on hand: one for them, one for you.
-
Store in an airtight container and let sit out for a few mins before serving to soften slightly.
-
Use silicone moulds for easy pop-outs and zero waste.
