Looma - What does it mean?

Looma, in Estonian means "to create" & "to make"

– a perfect reflection of what we’re all about.

The "Ma" in LooMa represents Motherhood, and for me has been the ultimate journey so far. At Looma, we’re here to celebrate the journey and perhaps make it a little easier by creating products for babies, children, and families that are as practical and purposeful as they are stylish.

The name also refers to loom – weaving. Our signature material used at Looma is Cotton Terry Towel, a weaved fabric!

So there, Looma is a playful connection to our signature terry towelling fabric, creating quality products and sharing goods, bads and in betweens of Motherhood.

Why Choose Our Towel Bib?

Exceptional Quality: Crafted from soft, absorbent 100% cotton towel, our bibs offer maximum coverage with 40cm length to keep your child dry and comfortable at mealtimes. The bibs are washed in the washing machine (rather then their clothes!) so you'll want 3+ bibs on hand for those messy weetbix brekkies and saucy spaghetti nights! The ribbed collar is a one size fits all (6months-2+years) which is made from very stretchy ribbing preventing food from sneaky down the neck. Use the soft towel bib to wipe up the baby and toddler and use it to wipe the highchair too!  - How Versatile. How Demure.

Small Business, Family Values: As a Perth owned family-owned business of four, we understand the importance of quality and care in every product we offer. We take pride in creating items that we would use for our own children. The full length bib was created from practicality and purpose - we purchased other bibs on the market and our oldest boy refused to wear it, he would pull it off or straight out say no! We thought wearing a silicone or plastic bib would simply not feel good. My husband, Joe cut a hole in a tea towel and slipped it over his head, I sewed on a ribbed collar. The Full Length Bib was born!

Sustainable and Ethical Manufacturing:  After sewing thousands of bibs myself, and running the company, packing and posting orders, managing social media, markets and the rest, it was time to outsource manufacturing. It took TWO YEARS to find manufacturers we aligned with with ethical practices involved and the upmost quality in our products . We believe in doing our part for the planet. Our bibs are made by an ethical manufacturer in India supporting the Made in India Initiative who prioritises sustainable practices, ensuring that you’re making a responsible choice for your family and the environment AND the back pocket.
